ABOUT IEC
The Indigenous Educator Corps (IEC) is an AmeriCorps service program hosted by the NACA Inspired Schools Network. We aim to deliver enriched educational experiences that build on community-defined strengths and genius for Native American students in New Mexico.
OUR MISSION
The Indigenous Educator Corps strengthens communities by engaging and guiding aspiring educators and community leaders to serve Indigenous students through mentoring, academic support, and community-based projects, fostering civic engagement through service and volunteering.

Eligibility
To join the Indigenous Educator Corps, you must:
Must be U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, or lawful permanent residents.
Must be at least 18 years old at the start of service.
Must possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent, or agree to obtain one during their term of service.
Have reliable transportation.
Benefits
Living Stipend: Receive financial support during your service year.
Segal Education Award: A financial award provided to AmeriCorps members upon completing their service term, which can be used for educational expenses or to repay student loans. (learn more)
Professional Development: Access training, mentoring, and resources to build your skills and prepare for a career as a licensed educator.
Service Commitment
IEC members commit to completing their required service hours within a 10-month term, as outlined in their service agreement.
The position types and hour requirements are as follows:
Full-time: 1,700 hours (Average 40 hours/week)
Three-Quarter-Time: 1,200 hours (Average 30 hours/week)
Half-time: 900 hours (Average 20 hours/week)
Reduced-Half-Time: 675 hours (Average 15 hours/week)
