Join the Indigenous Educators Corps!

Are you an aspiring educator who wants to be involved in a community-based movement to transform Indigenous education? If so, serving in the Indigenous Educator Corps might be for you!

An AmeriCorps program offered in partnership with NISN schools and Serve New Mexico, the Indigenous Educator Corps aims to deliver enriched educational experiences that build on community-defined needs and strengths for Native American students in New Mexico.

As an Indigenous Educator Corps Member, you will directly serve students through classroom support, tutoring, after-school programming, and mentoring. Service benefits include a living stipend, a Segal Education Award ($6,495 full-time/ $3,247.50 part-time) to pay for educational expenses and access to mentoring and professional development that provides a pathway toward becoming a licensed educator.

IEC members commit to one year of full (40 hours per week) or part-time (20 hours per week) service at one of our network schools in New Mexico.
